About

b. 1986, HK.

Hi, I’m Rachel.

I grew up as a military child, moving from place to place, soaking in new cultures, landscapes, and ways of seeing the world. That constant change taught me to observe—truly notice—the details that make each moment unique. Photography became my way of making sense of it all.

I’m equal parts planner and dreamer. I love the precision of composition, lighting, and process—but I also thrive on the unexpected, the moments that make a shoot come alive. For me, photography isn’t just work; it’s daily therapy and a way to share my vision with the world.

My goal is simple: to live with purpose, capturing stories that blend artistry and authenticity. I work across commercial and fine art photography, always looking for ways to connect, create, and see the world through fresh eyes.

If my work resonates with you, let’s connect. And if you’re curious about my more experimental side, check out my fine art projects at rachel-waters.com, where I explore alternative photo processes and mixed media work.
